Health and Wellness
Because Ohio State prioritizes the health and wellbeing of every Buckeye, both general and LGBTQ-specific health care services are available on campus.
A variety of mental health services, including individual and group counseling, trans-specific mental health resources, suicide prevention programming and crisis support, are available to Ohio State's LGBTQ+ undergraduate, graduate and professional students.
The Student Life Multicultural Center partners with the Student Wellness Center to offer free walk-in HIV and STI testing.
Fall Semester Hours (beginning September 17, 2018) are as follows:
- Monday: 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the Multicultural Center
- Tuesday: 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the Multicultural Center
- Wednesday: 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the Student Wellness Center
Visit swc.osu.edu/services/sexual-health/hiv-sti-testing for additional information about HIV/AIDS and STI testing through the Student Wellness Center.
The Student Life Student Health Insurance (SHI) Benefits Plan covers many services for transgender health care and transition-related care, including treatment for sexual reassignment surgery and other treatment for gender dysphoria, including counseling, hormone therapy and laboratory testing.
If you would like to speak to a SHI staff member who specializes in information to support students seeking transgender services, please contact SHI at 614-688-7979 or email@example.com and specify your needs – your inquiry will be directed to the appropriate staff member.
