The CBSC offers many Student Education and Empowerment Workshops that are available to members of the Ohio State community seeking to build inclusive environments, including workshops on LGBTQ topics.
Understanding Sexuality and Gender Identity
This 1-hour workshop provides an overview of LGBTQ identities, terminology, and history. Understanding Sexual and Gender Identity is recommended for students interested in learning more about the basics of the LGBTQ+ community. This workshop is eligible for 1 DICE credit.
Inclusive Pronoun Practices
This 1 hour workshop provides a grammatical overview of pronouns and their correct usage, including the use of neo-pronouns. Inclusive Pronoun Practices discusses the importance of normalizing the practice of sharing and asking for pronouns. This workshop is recommended for students who want to learn more about respectful pronoun usage. This workshop is eligible for 1 DICE credit.
Understanding Gender Identity
This workshop explores best practices for engaging with and supporting transgender and gender non-conforming students and communities at The Ohio State University. Through this 1-hour and 30-minute presentation, participants will gain a greater understanding of transgender identities and learn strategies for fostering gender inclusive spaces. This workshop is eligible for 1 DICE credit.

Safe Zone
Safe Zone aims to create a more welcoming and safe campus for individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Through this workshop, participants will (1) gain a greater understanding of LGBTQ identities and community needs, (2) learn tools for incorporating LGBTQ-inclusive practices into their daily lives, and (3) strengthen their skills in recognizing and interrupting anti-LGBTQ bias. Those who attend the entire 2.5-hour workshop will receive a Safe Zone sticker to display. This workshop is eligible for 2 DICE credits.

Creating LGBTQ-Inclusive Classrooms
The Center for Belonging and Social Change offers this workshop to facilitate faculty, staff, and GTAs in creating more inclusive spaces for LGBTQ students. This 2-hour presentation focuses on best practices for supporting LGBTQ students in settings of higher education, as well as strategies for navigating challenging conversations and interrupting bias. This workshop is eligible for 2 DICE credits.
